CHRIS SCHWEERS' JAGERMEISTER BUILD

For Chris Schweers racing is more than a passion, it's in his blood. Following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather who raced, Chris got his first taste at the age of 9 when he began drag racing in JR Dragsters. At the age of 17 he moved up to Super Comp Dragsters and dipped his toe into Go-Karts for Giebler Racing as well as lawn mower racing. He got his first off-road race under his belt at the 2018 Mint 400 at the age of 19.

The dominate Class 5 build is built by Jake's Fabworks on a custom 2018 006 chassis. With a 2.5 ecotec engine by Danzio and 6 speed Fulton sequential transmission this vehicle can compete with some of the fastest on the course. King Shocks, Ultra Wheels, ProAm hubs, and Tensor 37" allow the vehicle to glide over the harsh terrains encountered in desert racing.

Schweers' Class 5 build isn't just an eye catcher, it's a powerhouse machine with the winning record to prove it.

RACER Q & A

Q: What is your normal preparation for a race?

A: "Personally, I work out one hour a day to keep fit for the long hours in the car. For the car it is fully prepped every race by Jake's Fabworks. Two weeks before the race we go out to Barstow to test. For the team we have a chase meeting one week before the race."

Q: Who is your support team and how have they helped you?

A: "Jake's Fabworks built and preps the car every race from day one. Our race team WTF Racing (Way Too Fast) is made up of family and friends from Drag Racing. We are sponsored by Jagermeister, the transmission is by Dave Folts, Engine by Danzio, and tuned by Nils Castillo."

Q: Why did you choose Tensor Tires and how have they performed for you?

A: "We picked Tensor Tires because of the weight, traction, and sidewall flex. The last two races in 2021 we have switched from 35” Tensors to the 37” tire. The 37” Tensor tire is a game changer for our race program. It is a completely a different car, just amazing! It has improved the handling of the car so much! Especially cornering, I can drive deeper into a corner and get back on the gas quicker!"
