ATHLETE FEATURE | ETHAN GROOM; THE “YOUNG GUN” UTV CHAMPION

Meet the 12x Off-Road Champion Ethan Groom. At the young age of 15, Ethan has been manifested for off-road greatness and determined success. Groom already has several prestigious accolades to his credit and most recently had a remarkable year last season with a class victory at the 2020 UTV World Championship. Two class wins at the 2020 WORCS SxS World Finals, concluding with a 2020 WORCS Season Championship.

During the UTV World Championship, Polaris RZR debuted an all-new youth program that outlined rewards and support for the youth competitors. Ethan Groom won the Youth 570 Class and was awarded a RZR Factory Racing sponsorship & support package.

Looking back, it all started on a whim. An initial “trial by fire” was all it took for the Groom family to get the bug to pursue their racing aspirations by starting Groom Motorsports assertively. Within a short five-year period, young Ethan developed his racing acumen. He matured the drive to win, competing with various organizations such as the Lucas Oil Regional Off-Road Racing Series, The Dirt Series and WORCS.

Starting from the ground floor in entry-level competition, Groom climbed the ranks through different classes amassing a stellar race resume beginning in 2017 and earning 12 Championships through the end of 2020 and is currently racing in the Youth 1000 division.

Naturally, with these impressive results on the track, Groom Motorsports could attract an all-star lineup of industry partners to support the racing program. Ethan is aligned with Method Race Wheels and Tensor Tire on the RZR Rs1 and runs MR401 14x7 wheel and 30x10-14 DS tire package. The car itself was built by GSP Performance and features additional backing from Polaris RZR Factory Racing, Monster Energy, 4WP, Industrial Mechanical Services, Scanlon Motorsports Group, VP Racing Fuels, Maxima Racing Oils, Sparco, GMZ, Temecula Motorsports, Troy Lee Designs, Benchmark Performance, PRP, SC-14, Terra Dynamics, and Thrill Seekers.

The impressive resume continues with Groom’s academic efforts. In June of 2019, Groom graduated as Valedictorian of his middle school (Temecula Preparatory School), served as ASB middle school President for two years, made the Dean's List for his entire 12 semesters, and was voted Student of the Year twice. Ethan earned additional Virtue Awards and was recognized for Excellence in Math as well.

Groom Motorsports is finishing up a desert racing-based UTV platform with eyes on moving to Best In The Desert in 2022.
